THE costume designer for Sleeping Beauty in Salisbury has helped Wiltshire Creative secure an impressive accolade.
Katie Lias, part of the team at Wiltshire Creative, was presented the Best Costume Design award at The Pantomime Awards 2025, presented by The UK Pantomime Association.
Receiving five-star praise from The Stage magazine, Sleeping Beauty – written by Plested, Brown and Wilsher and directed by Ryan McBryde – ran at Salisbury Playhouse from November 30 until January 12, with the production welcoming over 25,000 audience members.
Artistic director Gareth Machin said: “We are immensely proud of Katie Lias for winning this award; this is a fantastic testament to her brilliant creativity, talent and hard work.

“Pantomime is at the core of our artistic vision, and this is a wonderful recognition of the love and care that goes into making an amazing show every year for Salisbury and the surrounding region.”
Following her award-winning work on Sleeping Beauty, Katie returns to design this year’s pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, which opens at Salisbury Playhouse this festive season.
This win builds on Wiltshire Creative’s reputation for delivering outstanding festive theatre, with last year’s Dick Whittington (also written by Plested, Brown and Wilsher) having received three nominations, including Best Pantomime, Best Villain and Best Contribution to Music.
