ANTI-social behaviour – including fires, assaults, fireworks and underage drinking – spiked in Tidworth during Halloween celebrations last night, police said, including one girl left unconscious through alcohol.
Police said incidents largely involved ‘young people’, including the teen who was left unconscious after drinking too much.
“Ongoing assaults were reported throughout the evening to the Neighbourhood Team and PC Kinsey from Salisbury Response while on hotspot foot patrols,” a police spokesperson said.
“PC Kinsey would like to ask parents ‘do you know where your children are?’
“Many of the young people we have spoken to openly admit that they have lied to their parents saying they are at youth clubs or staying with friends.”
PC Kinsey added: “We’re concerned that parents are unaware of what their children are up to late into the evening and that they are unsupervised and could be vulnerable.
“It is your parental responsibility to know where your children are and what they are doing.”
Residents are being urged to call 101 to report anti-social behaviour – and 999 if a crime is ongoing.
I am not surprised to read this. The teens are always in the park doing drugs and being antisocial. The other day there was a lot of glass all over the road leading to Wylye Road park. We keep making reports about this on weekly basis (sometimes more) and nothing is ever being done. The teens are ALWAYS in the park during evening hours, sometimes can be between 6pm and 10pm, we are talking about 14-16 year olds here! Smoking marihuana on daily basis, taking drugs (leaving rubbish, empty packets all over the park) vandalising the park, houses and flats in the area. Stealing from gardens, communal areas in the blocks and breaking into empty nearby (MOD) houses. This keeps happening, this keeps being reported and yet there is never a police patrol doing safety checks or anything like this, despite having a police station on the doorstep! This has been taken too far this time and I am totally not surprised to read this. Maybe police will start being more responsible and parents will actually start caring where their kids are! There is only so much residents of the area can do, we also put posts up about it on Tidworth groups like spotted and Tidworth mums. This keeps reoccurring and nobody seems to be taking anything seriously anymore, both Parents and Police.
