POLICE have launched an appeal after a charity donation box raising money for Salisbury District Hospital was stolen from a city centre supermarket.
Officers are asking for help to identify a person they would like to speak to in connection with the theft, which happened at the Morrisons store on March 26.
The box contained donations for the Salisbury District Hospital Stars Appeal – the charity that supports patients, staff and services at Salisbury District Hospital.
The appeal comes as a blow to fundraisers, with the charity relying on public generosity to provide vital extras for patients and their families.
Wiltshire Police say enquiries are ongoing and have released an image of a person they believe may be able to help with the investigation.
A spokesperson said officers are keen to hear from anyone who recognises the individual pictured, or who has any information about the incident.
“If this is you, or if you recognise them, please contact PC Follett by emailing 70799@wiltshire.police.uk referencing log 54260038549,” the force said.
People can also pass on information anonymously via Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555111.
