Transparency key, says new Wilton Mayor

COUNCILLOR Alexandra Boyd has been elected as Wilton Mayor for the coming year.

The mayor will be supported during her mayoral year by the mayor’s consort, Adrian Boyd – and cllr Christopher Harrison has been elected as deputy mayor.

Cllr Boyd said: “A resident of Wilton Hill Estate, I am a mother, volunteer, and advocate for inclusion and diversity.

“Originally from Germany, I moved to the UK in 1992 and now dedicate my time to community work. I am Jewish and serve as a deputy on the Board of Deputies of British Jews, a member of Wiltshire’s Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education, and founder of the Salisbury Women’s Interfaith Group which meets in Wilton Place care home every month.

“Transparency, inclusion, and youth empowerment are central to my work. I am proud to support Seeds4Success, a charity helping young people thrive. I also want to encourage more public participation in council meetings; your voice matters.”

The Mayor’s Charity for 2024 – 2025 will be Seeds4Success.
