Trowbridge man charged with attempted murder following Salisbury crash

A MAN from Trowbridge has been charged with attempting to murder two people in Salisbury.

Two victims were seriously injured in the crash that occurred in South Western Road on Thursday (March 27).

Police say one man in his 40s suffered potentially life-changing injuries and remains in hospital for treatment.

This comes after a car reportedly mounted a pavement and hit two people before driving away.

22-year-old Braden Lynam has now been charged after a man hunt was launched by police.

He is set to appear at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court this morning (April 1)

A woman in her 20s suffered injuries which aren’t thought to be life-changing and has been discharged from hospital.

Detective inspector Eirin Martin, from Wiltshire Police’s criminal investigation department, said: “I would like to thank all the members of the public who assisted with our enquiries by giving witness accounts, sharing CCTV footage and co-operating with officers carrying out address checks.

“Your help allowed our investigation to progress swiftly and it is greatly appreciated.”
