“It is a really nice feeling to think that someone took the time and trouble to complete a nomination.”

Ms Louw said: “We don’t do our roles for the recognition but it is a huge boost to think that someone has noticed what you have been doing and has put your name forward.”

General manager Aga Musial said: “To be nominated and selected as a finalist from amongst all the entries is a fantastic achievement and, whatever the results, they are both already winners in our eyes for achieving this recognition as are all the finalists across all the categories and congratulations to them all.

“Everyone at the home and within the wider Barchester family are supporting them and will be cheering them on come January.”

Both finalists will find out if they are winners at the awards ceremony held in Liverpool on January 24.
