A RESIDENT at Wilton Place Care Home found a sweet way to cool down during the recent heatwave making homemade lemonade.
Pat was chatting with her care assistant Shauna about how much she enjoys lemonade and how refreshing it is during warmer weather.
Wanting to make the most of the sunny spell, Shauna planned a surprise activity centred around Pat’s favourite drink.
Together in the home’s luxury bar area, Pat rolled up her sleeves and got to work, squeezing fresh lemons, pouring sugar and carefully sampling the finished result.

Everyone enjoyed a taste!
In the spirit of kindness and community, she shared her creation with other residents, staff members and visitors.
Pat plays an important role in the home as resident ambassador, helping staff ensure fellow residents are happy and settled.
She regularly checks in on new arrivals to help them feel comfortable, whether they are staying for respite care or long-term support.
Pat said: “I have had a wonderful afternoon, and I am very grateful to be able to help look after others.”
Home manager Antoinette praised both Pat and the care team for making simple moments special.
She said: “Our team work tirelessly to ensure our residents are happy and thriving whilst in our care and little gestures like this mean the world to our residents.
“I am very proud of my team and what we offer as a whole home to our wonderful residents.”
