A WOMAN has admitted drink driving after crashing into a lamppost at a Salisbury roundabout.
Joanne Venning, 38, of Meadow View, Bishopstone, appeared at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on May 19.
The court heard that on March 18, Venning was driving a Peugeot 2008 on the Beehive roundabout in Salisbury when the vehicle collided with a lamppost.
Police officers who attended the scene arrested Venning after noticing she smelt strongly of alcohol.
She failed a roadside breath test and was taken into custody.
Following her guilty plea, magistrates disqualified Venning from driving for 20 months.
She was also fined £500 and ordered to pay a £200 victim surcharge and £85 in Crown Prosecution Service costs.
The case was heard at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 19.
