POLICE were led on a 45-minute pursuit through three counties after an alleged drunk driver failed to stop for officers in Salisbury.
Salisbury Police said they received reports of a possible drink driver in the city who collided with bins near Wetherspoons at around 9pm yesterday evening (October 30).
The vehicle, a blue Volkswagen Golf, was sighted on Brown Street around half an hour later but failed to stop for officers.

The Golf then led police on a 45-minute pursuit through three counties before being brought to a stop in a tactical pursuit and containment on the A338 near to New Forest Water Park.
A spokesperson for the force said: “During the pursuit, the driver – a 22-year-old man – performed multiple dangerous, deliberate manoeuvres, including turning off his lights, driving into oncoming traffic and playing ‘chicken’ with them, contravening solid white lines and driving through red lights.
“Following the containment, he was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, possession of Class A and B drugs, and drug driving. He has been taken into custody for questioning.“
