TWO people suspected of shoplifting from stores in Southampton Road in Salisbury have been arrested – after a dramatic chase.
Police were called at around 4pm on Thursday, February 1, after reports three people were stealing from businesses on the street.
When officers reached the scene, they stopped a vehicle the suspects were believed to be travelling in.
“The suspects made off on foot and two were arrested on suspicion of theft,” a police spokesperson said.
“Around 150 items were recovered from the car, thought to have been stolen, amounting to around £2,700, most of which have now been returned.”
A man in his 20s and a man in his 30s have been released on bail while enquiries continue, the spokesperson added.
