Behind the badge: public invited to policing roadshow

RESIDENTS in Salisbury will have the chance to learn more about how police powers are monitored and used when a special roadshow arrives in the city next week.

Between 11am and 3pm on Monday, December 15, representatives from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon and the Wiltshire Police Scrutiny Team will be available to speak with the public as part of an ongoing effort to increase transparency and community engagement.

The event in Market Square will allow visitors to find out how scrutiny works within Wiltshire Police, hear about plans to improve the monitoring and understanding of police powers and even watch body-worn video from real incidents to see how decisions are made in practice.

The team will gather feedback from residents and is encouraging people to share their views and concerns to help shape future policing across the county.

Members of the public are invited to drop in at any time during the Police Powers Scrutiny Roadshow to ask questions, learn more and take part in the conversation.
