RESIDENTS across Wiltshire are being invited to find out what help is available on their doorstep at a major Social Care Community Fayre next month.
Bringing together dozens of community groups, charities and council teams, the fayre aims to showcase the wide range of services supporting children, young people, families, carers and older residents across the county.
The free event, organised by Wiltshire Council, will take place on Tuesday, March 17 from 10am to 4pm in the Atrium at County Hall, Trowbridge, coinciding with World Social Work Day 2026.
Visitors will be able to meet local organisations face-to-face, learn about services promoting wellbeing and independence and speak directly to the people delivering children’s social care, early help, family support and adult social care.
Information will be available on everything from fostering and adoption to SEND support, emotional wellbeing, youth services and safeguarding.
For adults, there will be advice on independent living, reablement and recovery, home adaptations, shared lives schemes, mental health support and community connections.
Cabinet member for adult social care Cllr Gordon King said: “As we mark Social Work Week and celebrate World Social Work Day, we’re reminded of the vital role our social workers, social care teams and community partners play in the lives of people across Wiltshire.
“This year’s theme, ‘Co Building Hope and Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society’, captures the spirit of what our services strive for every day: supporting older adults to stay independent, helping families to thrive, and ensuring children grow up safe, supported and hopeful for the future.
“The Social Care Community Fayre showcases the breadth of support available for both adults and families and highlights how services can work together to strengthen Wiltshire’s communities.”
Cabinet member for children’s services Cllr Jon Hubbard added: “Our aim is to make it easier for people to access the advice and services they need to live well, stay connected, and remain independent for as long as possible.
“I’m grateful to the many groups and charities joining us for this event, and I hope everyone who comes along finds it both welcoming and informative.”
The event is open to everyone, including residents seeking support, unpaid carers, volunteers and professionals.
