SALISBURY NHS Foundation Trust has published its response to the final report into the death of Dawn Sturgess.
It said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Dawn Sturgess, and all those impacted by the tragic events of 2018. We recognise all those affected by the Novichok incident, and the lasting impact such an event has had on victims, their loved ones, and the community of Salisbury.
“We welcome the findings of the report and are committed to learning from its conclusions and how we can continue to strengthen our response to rare and complex incidents.
“We will carefully review the recommendations, and remain open and willing to engage with partners, experts and the community as we do so.
“We are immensely proud of the exceptional professionalism, dedication and compassion shown by all the staff at Salisbury District Hospital throughout the incident, those who treated the victims, those who responded to the incident and all those who continued to run our normal services under extraordinary circumstances.
“Their calm, skilled and selfless response during an unprecedented and challenging time stands as a testament to the very highest standards of public service. Their actions not only saved lives but also provided reassurance and strength to a community under immense pressure.
“Our thoughts remain with all who have been affected. We remain committed to supporting them and to ensuring that lessons are learned and acted upon.”
