Driver fled police after running red light in Salisbury

POLICE are trying to trace a car that ran a red light and failed to stop for police in Salisbury.

The incident, at traffic lights outside the Royal Oak Pub in Devizes Road, happened at 5.13pm on Sunday evening (September 13).

“The driver of a silver Ford Focus Zetec was travelling up Devizes Road towards Fugglestone Red when they drove through a red light outside the Royal Oak Pub,” a police spokesperson said.

“They narrowly missed a man who was crossing the road.

“This was seen by police officers who were waiting to pull onto Devizes Road from Queen Alexandra Road.

“When the officer approached the car, the driver drove off at speed.”

The male driver is described as being around 5ft 11 inches tall, with dark hair, aged between 40 and 60 years and wearing a dark jacket.
