EIGHT people were arrested in Amesbury yesterday evening (May 7) for immigration offences.
Police who were working in conjunction with Immigration Enforcement and Control as part of a multi-agency operation visited a business in Amesbury where checks were carried out.
Police say that while the vast majority of employees had valid UK residence cards/refugee status and/or permits to work, eight staff members were identified and arrested for immigration offences.
This includes failing to observe conditions to enter/remain in the UK, and remaining in the UK beyond their specified time limit.
An Amesbury Police spokesperson said: “Those arrested were transported to police custody whilst further enquiries were conducted.”
