AN election will take place to fill a vacant city council seat in Salisbury.
The announcement of the election for the St Edmund’s ward comes following the death of former councillor Bob Gann, who Salisbury City Council said took his own life following a period of depression.
The council put out a notice for a new councillor in September, and as at least 10 people have indicated they wish to stand an election will now be held on November 13.
Salisbury City Council said: “Becoming a councillor is a rewarding experience and will give you the opportunity to make a real difference in your local area and help improve the lives of residents.
“The role can include helping with problems, coming up with ideas, working with local community groups and making and reviewing decisions.”
