SALISBURY Hospice Charity received a huge financial boost following the success of a community event.
Families made the most of the sun at the 11th annual Fabulous Family Fun Day at Salisbury Rugby Club on May 10, as they came together to raise vital funds for the charity.
Organisers say more than £30,000 was raised in total, which will support the charity’s mission to deliver free, compassionate care to individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses.
Greig Futcher, chairman of the Fabulous Family Fun Day (FFFD) committee, said: “I am really pleased that the FFFD continues to bring local people together to have fun and raise vital money for Salisbury Hospice.
“I would like to thank the fantastic committee and the hospice charity team for their support.”

The day, held in memory of Lyn Futcher, offered a packed schedule of entertainment, including a football tournament and a lively touch rugby tournament, sponsored by Adam’s Autos.

Live music helped keep the energy high, with many acts performing from 12pm until 9.30pm and self-proclaimed saviours of rock n roll and pioneers of Mongrel Rock, LUMP, rounded off the evening with their popular Salisbury-based songs.
The beer tent remained bustling, with attendees eager to try this year’s specially selected beers while soaking up the lively vibe.
Once again, the raffle proved a major highlight, featuring a top prize of a holiday to Turkey for four, donated by Beyaz Villas.

Meanwhile, the arena featured live performances from many talented groups, culminating in a performance by the Phoenix Stars.
Children enjoyed a wide variety of activities, starting with DJ Kev and the Radio Odstock community team’s mini disco, followed by popular parachute games, bouncy castles, and circus tricks—keeping young visitors entertained throughout the day.
The charity extended its thanks to Johnsons Stalbridge, who returned as the event’s eco sponsor, as well as sponsors Ozweld International, the committee team who helped organise the event, Salisbury Rugby Club, raffle prize donors, performers, supporters, dedicated volunteers, and everyone who came along to join the fun.
“Your efforts made this amazing result possible,” a spokesperson said.

Tamsin Murley, community fundraiser for Salisbury Hospice Charity, said: “We continue to be deeply humbled by the incredible dedication and hard work of our outstanding committee—Greig, Sarah, Spencer, Sam, Clare, and Jason.
“Their commitment is truly inspiring.
“We are also immensely grateful to Ozweld International, Salisbury Rugby Club, and everyone who supported this event in so many ways.
“All of our specialised services are provided at no cost to those in need. Our ability to continue this vital work relies heavily on the generosity of people in our local community who organise and support events such as the Fabulous Family Fun Day.”
