Families and inspectors praise Salisbury care home

A WILTSHIRE Council care home in Salisbury providing short breaks for adults with physical and learning disabilities has been commended for creating a space where residents thrive.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) carried out an inspection at Bradbury House, in October 2025, awarding the home a ‘Good’ rating across all areas.

Inspectors highlighted the dedication of staff and the positive experiences of both residents and their families.

The report praised the home for providing the right support, noting that residents are kept safe by well-trained staff who understand their individual needs.

Thoughtful adaptations have been made to improve accessibility and care is tailored to each person, with families describing staff as caring, respectful and committed.

Professionals also praised the collaborative approach to planning and delivering support.

The CQC highlighted the strong culture at Bradbury House where residents and relatives feel valued, listened to and confident in the care provided, and where a dedicated management team fosters continuous improvement and a positive atmosphere.

Families spoke warmly about the service. One relative said: “She can’t wait, she counts it down and marks it on her calendar.” Another added: “It’s a lovely building and a lovely atmosphere. They work very hard. They’re a good bunch.”

Cabinet member for adult social care Cllr Gordon King said: “Bradbury House is a shining example of compassionate, person-focused care. It’s clear the team goes above and beyond to make every stay special.

“We’re proud of the warm, welcoming environment they’ve created and the difference they are making to people’s lives.”
