Increased police presence in Salisbury neighbourhood hit by crime spike

POLICE in Salisbury have undertaken additional foot patrols in an area currently blighted by thefts and vehicle tampering.

Officers took to social media yesterday to advise residents that PC Evans and PCSO King would be visiting Harnham, including Rowbarrow and Woodbury Yard, that evening.

They said the action follows a “high number of reported thefts and vehicle tampering in the area”.

A spokesperson said: “Please be vigilant and ensure vehicles are locked and secured, please also continue to report any incidents of this nature.”

Just last week, officers patrolled the same area, when PC McHoul from Salisbury Response policing took to the same streets after reports of vehicle break-ins.

Police advised people to keep their vehicle safe by making sure no valuables are left inside when they are unattended. All vehicles should be locked when left alone.

If your vehicle has been tampered with or any belongings have been taken from a vehicle, contact Wiltshire Police via 101 or an Online Crime Report.
