Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime opens at Salisbury Playhouse

WILTSHIRE Creative’s lively pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk officially opens at Salisbury Playhouse this afternoon (December 4).

Flamboyant sets and costumes are designed by Katie Lias, who won Best Costume Design at the 2025 UK Pantomime Awards for Sleeping Beauty – another Wiltshire Creative production.

This year’s pantomime is directed by Gareth Machin and written by Plested, Brown and Wilsher.

West End star George Olney returns to the Playhouse in the role of happy-go-lucky milkman Jack, while Isabella Mason takes the stage as sassy singer, and love interest of Jack, Jill.

Eloise Runnette, whose previous roles include the Sister Act UK Tour and Legally Blonde, plays Dolly the Cow.

Wiltshire Creative announced: “Join us in Salisburyshire for a giant musical pantomime! With colourful costumes and songs full of pop, it promises festive delight for all the family.

“Embark on an awesome adventure as Jack sets out on a daring mission to rescue Dolly the Cow. Can our happy-go-lucky hero triumph over the music-hating Giant? Can he and the Fairy Fabulous King of Rock and Roll restore the joy of singing to Salisburyshire? And will Jack ever win Jill’s heart?

“This classic tale will be sprinkled in Salisbury magic by the writers and designers of last year’s award-winning pantomime, Sleeping Beauty. Make your festive season sparkle with fee-fi-fo family fun!”

Jack and the Beanstalk opens with a matinee at 2.15pm, following packed out preview performances, and runs until January 11, 2026.

There will be special BSL signed/captioned and dementia friendly/relaxed showings and an Adult’s Only performance.

Wiltshire Creative is funded by Arts Council England, Salisbury City Council and Wiltshire Council, and 2025/26 is a major anniversary year, as it celebrates 50 years of Salisbury Arts Centre and Salisbury Playhouse.
