Japanese restaurant chain Kokoro to open branch in Salisbury

A POPULAR Japanese restaurant chain is set to open a branch in Salisbury.

Kokoro has applied for permission to open a premises at 15-16 Queen Street, formerly the Well Natural café.

Atlas, on behalf of the firm, has submitted a planning application for new signage, internal alterations and more ahead of the new restaurant opening.

“Kokoro is a well-respected and established brand offering sushi, Korean and Japanese food, with many sites around the UK,” the application said.

“All sites are located in busy central city and town locations, often working within listed buildings and conservation areas.”

Food is prepared on site daily at restaurants, it said, with a seated café area to the front, as well as a counter service area typical of Kokoro premises.

New, non-illuminated signage would be decorated with a light blue background, with timber lettering in satin black.

Two retractable canopies, currently “in poor condition”, would be replaced, the plan added.

The application is now out to consultation. For more details, and to comment, log on to Wiltshire.gov.uk and search for reference PL/2024/08420.

Disappointing Change in Flavour at Kokoro, Salisbury

I have always been a fan of Kokoro and have enjoyed their authentic flavours for a long time. However, my recent visit at Salisbury left me quite disappointed. It seems they have completely changed the flavour of their few dishes, and it no longer tastes the same.

The new flavours lack the authenticity and depth that I used to love, and this change has altered the overall taste palate. While I’m open to trying new flavours, I believe the introduction of these new options should not come at the cost of removing the original, authentic ones.

Unless Kokoro decides to bring back the original flavours, I regret to say that I will not be visiting there anymore. The essence of Kokoro has been lost with this change, and it’s a shame to see a beloved restaurant lose its unique charm.
