PEOPLE can take part in an 8-mile sponsored walk designed to bring the community together, promote men’s mental health and raise vital funds for Salisbury Hospice Charity.
The Big Try winds through some of the area’s most scenic and recognisable spots, including the historic Old Sarum, before stopping at Salisbury Rugby Club, where participants will enjoy a free pint and hearty pasty.
Walkers will then head back to Salisbury City Hall, where the day will conclude with live screenings of the final three Six Nations matches.
The Big Try is about more than fitness; it encourages individuals, families and groups to challenge themselves, raise funds and show support for the community.
Participants will experience a real sense of pride as the event blends camaraderie, purpose and the excitement of the Six Nations.
Funds raised will go directly to Salisbury Hospice, helping provide essential end-of-life care, including bereavement support for patients and their families.
These services offer comfort, dignity, and reassurance during some of life’s most difficult moments.
To incentivise participation, everyone who registers will be automatically entered into a prize draw, with exciting rewards including a 2025-26 Official England Rugby Shirt signed by the squad, donated by Harlequins vice-captain Cadan Murley, alongside a range of other prizes.

The incentives on offer.
Evening-only attendees are also welcome, with a suggested £5 donation to support hospice services.
A limited-time PayDay Weekend discount is available on registration until midnight tonight (Monday, 2 March), using code PAYDAY20.
“The Big Try is more than just a walk – it’s a shared mission to support local families through care, compassion, and community action,” said organisers.
