A CARE home in Wilton has created a midsummer festival in aid of charity.
Staff and residents of Wilton Place Care Home, run by Barchester, are inviting their family, friends and members of the community to join them to take part in their midsummer music festival on August 15 from 2pm to 4.30pm.
The event will feature ‘China wolf’ playing a range of classic hits from the 1970s onwards.
Money raised will support Barchester’s Charitable Foundation.
Homemade cakes made by the care home’s chefs, along with a selection of soft drinks, tea and coffee will be available.
A raffle and bottle tombola will also take place at the festival.
Antoinette Roberts, General Manager at Wilton Place said: “Everyone at Wilton Place is keen to support Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, it is a great charity that helps many people in need, particularly lonely older people, which is a cause very close to our hearts.
“Plus, it is great for all our wellbeing. We can’t wait to see how much money we can raise!”
Established in 2000, the Barchester Foundation does invaluable work supporting older people and other adults living with a disability or mental health problems by helping them to connect or reconnect with others in their local communities.
Last year the foundation achieved a donation milestone of £335,000 which enabled the charity to provide vital help to 239 small groups and charities, plus 104 individuals in one year alone.
