Nine drivers caught speeding near Salisbury in police crackdown

NINE drivers have been offered a speed awareness course after they were caught speeding in a village near Salisbury.

This comes after the force carried out speed checks near the Old Rectory in Teffont on Tuesday (September 16).

Nine vehicles were recorded exceeding the 30mph speed limit – with the fastest driver clocked at 37mph

Salisbury Police said: “This stretch of road has a clearly displayed speed limit, but many drivers were seen accelerating rapidly while still well within the 30mph zone.”

It added: “Proceedings will now take place to ensure the most appropriate outcome for each driver.

“Every decision to speed increases the risk to other road users – particularly in our rural communities where pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders often share the road.

Please stick to the limit and help keep our villages safe.
