FOVANT residents are being reminded that bus routes in the village are affected with Tisbury Road closed for telecoms work.
The road is closed between Sutton Road and Dinton Road until January 16, and contractor 4 Site Fibre Ltd have confirmed they will allow access for school buses serving Shaftesbury and Dinton schools.
However, ordinary bus services cannot use the road during the day.
During this period, Salisbury Reds bus service 26 will stop at alternative locations in the village including Sutton Road, Clays Orchard bus shelter and a temporary bus stop on the A30, next to and opposite the car park of The Greater Good Pub.
Fovant Parish Council has noted that awareness of the closure may be limited among residents and has asked for assistance in spreading the information.
Even if the works finish ahead of schedule, the council says it may take time for the information to reach the bus company and residents are therefore advised to continue using the temporary bus stops.
The council hopes the arrangements will cause minimal disruption and encouraged anyone needing more information to contact them directly.
