Pedestrian in life-threatening condition following late night Amesbury crash

A MAN suffered injuries that left him in a life-threatening condition after he was hit by a car in Amesbury.

The man was walking in the direction of Larkhill on Countess Road, north of Countess Roundabout, at 3.24am on Saturday (July 26) when he was hit by a car.

The driver stopped at the scene and called emergency services, who took the injured man to Salisbury District Hospital.

But due to the seriousness of his injuries, which have been described as life-threatening, the man was then transferred to Southampton General Hospital.

One lane of the A345 north of Countess Roundabout was closed as police carried out investigations.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information or any witnesses to get in touch.
