93 CUBS from across the Salisbury area got stuck into a range of creative tasks as part of a skills day.
The event on October 19 at the Wilton Scouts headquarters in Warminster Road saw 10 local groups, with members aged between eight and 10, enjoy eight activity bases.
This included fire lighting match training and toasting marshmallows, making ballista’s (catapults), problem solving, constructing spaghetti towers, making musical instruments, Nordic braiding, making paracord people and knot tying and tracking.

Anne-Marie Kinsey the Cub Scout district program Lead who organised the event said: “As Cub District programme lead it was a joy to watch Cubs from different packs work together.

“We agreed to run the skills day as a free event, to give as many cubs as possible the opportunity to join us. I am looking forward to more district activities in the New Year.”
