A FORMER bar in the heart of Salisbury could be converted into offices under new plans.
Plans detail the ambition to turn the ground and first floors of the grade II listed former Vibe bar building on 28 Milford Street into an operational and administration office for staff at the nearby Cathedral Hotel.
Vibe closed its doors in November 2023.
Under the plans, most of the work would be internal, with the exception of the painting of the Milford Street frontage. No structural work has been planned.
A “like for like” maintenance of the building would also take place, with upgrades to the second floor flat to improve fire safety.

The plans said: “The approach has been to change as little as possible of the external envelope. Where elements require repair they will be repaired using the same materials and techniques.”
It added: “The proposals leave the exterior in a better condition of repair using original materials without falsification or speculative reconstruction.”
The change in use would reportedly provide jobs and would support the long-term conservation of the building.
