A VILLAGE primary school has been forced to close today after flooding made access routes unsafe, as heavy rain from Storm Chandra continues to cause disruption across parts of south Wiltshire.
Chilmark and Fonthill Bishop Primary School is closed after flooding on Frog Lane left the site inaccessible.
Parents and carers have been advised that further updates will be shared through the school’s Ping app.
The closure comes amid widespread reports of difficult and dangerous travel conditions in the area.

Drivers travelling between Tisbury and Salisbury via Dinton described the roads as “awful”, with Dinton Road flooded at both ends of the village and several routes partially submerged.
Emergency services have been responding to a growing number of incidents.
Tisbury Fire Station confirmed it has attended multiple calls this morning involving flooded roads and properties.
A spokesperson for the station urged residents to take extra care, saying: “Please do not attempt to drive through flood water, even if you think it’s not that deep.
“Check your route before you travel. Your local authority website and the Highways should be able to confirm where some road closures are in place.
“If your home has been affected by flooding, please visit our website for advice on what to do.”
Residents are being advised to avoid unnecessary journeys while conditions remain hazardous, with further disruption possible as water levels remain high across the area.
