ALLOTMENT holders and tennis players could face some disruption while roadworks are taking place in Salisbury.
From today (May 20), the track at Coldharbour Lane will be closed for up to six weeks to allow resurfacing work to be carried out.
“The track is in poor condition, and the works must take place for us to keep it accessible for vehicles in the future,” a Salisbury City Council spokesperson said.
“Salisbury City Council would like to apologies for the short notice period provided along with any inconvenience that this will cause during the closure.
“Unfortunately, we are unable to offer an alternative parking solution.”
However, the contractors have agreed to allow vehicle access to the allotments and the tennis club between 4.30pm and 6.30pm from Monday to Friday.
“Entry will be manned to limit use and people will be using the track at their own risk as the road surface will not be smooth,” the spokesperson added.
