Salisbury Fire Station to host biggest open day yet

SALISBURY Fire Station is opening its doors to the public this weekend.

The event, taking place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, August 23, provides an opportunity for people to peek behind the scenes at the station and allows people to meet the brave firefighters who work to keep the city safe.

This is the fourth consecutive open day and the fire service said they expect it to be their biggest one to date.

“Watch our fire and rescue demonstrations throughout the day and have a go at all the fantastic free activities,” a spokesperson said.

“Have a great family day out and support your local fire station!”

Other activities include a fire engine simulator, a firehouse experience, a ‘have a go at CPR’ event, a throwline experience and an airport crash tender.
