A SALISBURY play area is set to be upgraded and residents are being asked to input into the plans.
The play area at Pinewood Way at Bemerton Heath is set to become more accessible to all, with the introduction of wheelchair roundabouts and an emotions communication panel which is specifically designed for children who have difficulty communicating verbally.
Salisbury City Council has drawn up proposals, which also include a musical play panel, a double slide, swings and a climbing wall.

Existing equipment in the far side of the play area will remain, including the wooden adventure play.
Accessible equipment at play areas in Salisbury is a hot topic at the moment, as criticism was made that the new play area at River Park does not truly cater to those that are disabled due to the lack of inclusive equipment, despite it being described as an “accessible space”.

People are able to submit comments on the proposals via email to parks@salisburycitycouncil.gov.uk by October 10.
