Sausage baps and free brews for emergency workers at Salisbury care home

EMERGENCY services workers got a cuppa and a sausage bap as a thank you for their work in the community.

Staff opened the doors at Wilton Place Care Home to mark Emergency Services Day, offering paramedics, nurses, police officers and other emergency services workers the chance to enjoy a snack and a brew.

Blue light personnel regularly spend time at the home on their duty breaks, with complimentary great coffee and homemade cake on offer.

Antoinette Roberts, general manager at Wilton Place, said the initiative was a way to say “thank you to you all for all the great work” the staff do.

“We are pleased to offer all our local emergency services workers who stop by a variety of teas, coffee, chilled water, delicious homemade cake and biscuits, available free of charge,” she said.

“Our comfortable facilities include free wifi and service with a smile; do stop in and say hi, we would be delighted to see you.”

Residents at the home enjoy the company of the blue light drop ins and find their presence in the home reassuring, she added.
