PEOPLE have been advised to stay alert following a surge in scam phone calls.
Resident in the Wilton area have reported suspicious calls from mobile numbers asking what repairs are due to their properties. The callers hung up when challenged.
Wiltshire Council’s housing team said: “These calls often come from mobile numbers, mentions vague ‘urgent issues’, and provide no clear justification.
“If you’re not sure whether a call is genuine, it’s okay to end the call and check with us directly. For peace of mind, use only our official housing repairs number or email.”
