Still chance to enjoy one‑of‑a‑kind railway exhibit

AN EXCITING unique free attraction is rolling into Salisbury Railway Station this half term.

From Saturday to Monday (February 23), Inspiration, a one‑of‑a‑kind Railway 200 exhibition train, will be on display, offering families, rail fans and curious visitors an immersive journey through 200 years of railway history.

Already visited by more than 50,000 people on its nationwide tour, the train features interactive displays and hands‑on activities that bring rail innovation to life.

Inside, themed carriages include Railway Firsts, showcasing key breakthroughs in rail history; Wonderlab on Wheels, with engaging science and engineering experiments; and Your Railway Future, highlighting lesser‑known rail careers and encouraging the next generation of innovators.

“Visitors young and old can explore, learn and be inspired,” said organisers, who run the exhibition in partnership with the National Railway Museum.

Each visit to the train is structured in 15‑minute slots to ensure everyone gets the most out of the experience.

While the event is free, booking ahead is essential – though latecomers may be accommodated on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

Travellers can catch one of the many local buses serving the station for single fares under £3 or take advantage of the Park & Ride service with return tickets from £3.50.
