FESTIVE cheer was in full swing in Salisbury this week as people living with dementia and their families were treated to a joyful ukulele concert at Scots Lane club.
Members welcomed back the Woodford Ukulele Group, whose upbeat tunes quickly had everyone tapping along and soaking up the seasonal spirit.

The concert was part of a packed festive programme organised by Beyond Dementia, which runs the club.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “Music and entertainment are always a huge part of our day clubs but at Christmas, we really take it up a notch – filling every day with festive fun.
“Just like this week at Scots Lane club in Salisbury, where members welcomed back the Woodford Ukulele Group, who wasted no time getting everyone into the Christmas spirit.”

Scots Lane club, which opened in 2023 following an ambitious renovation, is Beyond Dementia’s newest purpose-designed space.
Located close to the city centre, it offers room for 12 members and follows the charity’s trademark formula of small group activities, a relaxed informal atmosphere and high staff ratios, allowing everyone to follow their own preferences.
The club features a spacious main activity room, an open-plan kitchen and a quieter indoor garden area where members can unwind in more natural-feeling surroundings.
Like Beyond Dementia’s other clubs, the focus is on providing a stimulating and engaging day out for people who, with the right support, still have much to enjoy in life.
Beyond Dementia, formerly known as Alzheimer’s Support, recently launched its new name to better reflect its ethos of seeing the person behind the diagnosis.
The Wiltshire charity continues to provide practical support, one-to-one care, day clubs, dementia advisers and a growing range of community groups – with joy, connection and festive fun firmly at the heart of what they do.
