SALISBURY care home residents saw their Christmas celebrations get underway early as they visited the St Thomas’s Church Christmas Tree Festival.
The popular festival, now in its 20th year, had a special entry this year as residents of Milford House Care Home had their own tree on display alongside more than 100 other decorated trees.
The residents’ submission featured a house filled with trees in the interior.
This year’s festival also saw the debut of a new Christmas carol by Salisbury group Sounds Better CIC.

A care home spokesperson said: “Residents who attended the church thought it looked gorgeous and were thrilled to see so many people stopping to look at it.”
One resident said: “I have been coming to this festival for years, and so I was especially delighted to come down and see all the beautiful trees and, of course, our own as well.
“It was very busy and everyone was enjoying themselves.”
General manager at the care home, Aga Musial, said residents enjoyed being serenaded by musical performances from choirs as they visited the festival.
“Our residents came back buzzing from having attended the festival,” she said.
“Not only did they love seeing their own exhibit, but [they] were inspired and delighted by the creativity on show from all the others on display.”
She added: “This was a perfect event to really get our Christmas underway, and we have loved being part of it and hope that we can join in again next year!”
