FIREFIGHTERS tackled to garden fires in the Salisbury area on Thursday (April 20).
The first incident, at around 2.12pm, saw two crews from Salisbury attend reports of smoke in the Silver Street area of Alderbury.
“On arrival, they discovered a fire involving a garden shed which had spread to an adjacent shed, some logs, and a hollow beech tree,” a Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
“The sheds, which were well alight, contained garden machinery.”
Crews used one jet and one hose reel, as well as drags and a thermal imaging camera, to deal with the fire.
Then, at 2.18pm, a crew from Wilton attended reports of a fire in the garden of a property in Lower Woodford.
They discovered a bonfire had spread out of control to an adjacent fence and shrubs. Firefighters used a hose reel and small tools to put the blaze out.
