RUGBY fans are being invited to take part in a new fundraising event for Salisbury Hospice Charity this March.
The Big Try, set for Saturday, March 14, will see participants complete an eight-mile sponsored walk across some of Salisbury’s most picturesque landscapes.
The walk includes a pit stop at Salisbury Rugby Club where walkers can enjoy a free pasty and pint before returning to City Hall to watch live screenings of three Six Nations matches.
The event promises a unique mix of fitness, rugby and fundraising.
England and Harlequins player Cadan Murley and rugby legend Richard Hill are backing the event, offering encouragement and fitness tips in the lead-up.
Cadan will also host a special launch evening on Wednesday, January 21, titled An Evening with Cadan Murley: Behind the Try Line.
Fans attending this exclusive session will hear firsthand stories from his career, take part in a Q&A and have the chance for photos and autographs.
Tickets for The Big Try and the Cadan Murley evening are available online, with early bookings recommended to secure Early Bird Kick Off prices.
While the launch evening is free, spaces are limited.
Cadan said: “I’m looking forward to meeting fans, sharing my experiences, and cheering on everyone taking part in The Big Try. It’s a fantastic way to combine fitness, rugby, and fundraising for such an important cause.”
All proceeds will support Salisbury Hospice, which provides free compassionate care to patients with life-limiting illnesses and support for their families. The charity relies on donations and community fundraising to continue its work.
