A FORMER Salisbury barber shop could be developed into a house.
A planning application has been submitted to Wiltshire Council to convert 129 Bulford Road, Durrington, into a single property.
The ground floor of the property was most recently Rosie’s Barber Shop, but would be converted into a three-bedroom house.
“(The application is) to convert the whole building into one home for the current owner in her retirement, including remodelling the front to create more traditional front door with bay window,” the application said.
Previously, permission was granted to convert the shop into a flat, alongside the one above.
“Having decided to convert the two flats to one dwelling it seems a waste of resources to convert the ground floor section of the building into a flat for a short time only to have to remodel it shortly afterwards,” the application went on.
The scheme will now be considered by Wiltshire Council planners.

I can’t see why it would be a problem to turn it into a house
It would be in keeping with the neighbouring houses
And why not she owns it and no longer uses it for a business. Other shops in Bulford Rd
have done it. The betting shop did, furniture shop did, old pet shop did too,why can’t Rosie.
