Man who ran over two pedestrians in Salisbury in fit of rage pleads guilty

A TROWBRIDGE man has pleaded guilty after he seriously injured two people after running them over with a car in Salisbury last month.

Police say 22-year-old Braden Lynam of Woodborough Close was involved in a “physical altercation” with a man in his 40s in South Western Road on March 27 that saw a woman in her 20s step in to attempt to break it up.

Mere seconds later, Lynam got into his car and drove at high speed toward the pair in an act of retaliation.

The crash resulted in the male victim sustaining life-changing injuries and the female was left with serious but non-life-changing injuries.

Lynam did not stop at the scene and continued into Churchfields Road where he abandoned his vehicle and evaded police until he was arrested on March 31.

He was convicted at Winchester Crown Court today (April 30) where he pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm and causing serious injury by dangerous driving

Lynam has been remanded in custody to be sentenced on July 4.
