Musical theatre choir invited to perform at Disneyland Paris

A SUCCESSFUL audition has seen the Fordingbridge Musical Theatre Choir invited to perform on a Disneyland stage next summer.

The choir has performed at many community events since its creation in September 2023, but they’ve now set their sights further afield and will be going on tour to Paris, departing June 25, 2026.

As well as performing in central Paris, the choir will be gracing the stage at Disneyland.

Group are chosen to perform at Disneyland through its performing arts programme which sees hundreds of amateur groups showcase their talents and experience the thrill of a lifetime.

The group is on a high following some high praise from Disneyland HQ: “A real feel-good audition! We thoroughly enjoyed both pieces during your performance.

“The arrangements were exceptionally well suited to your group of singers, bringing out the best in each voice part.”

Choir director Olivia Sparkhall said, “We’re so excited about this incredible opportunity to perform at such a prestigious venue.

“The audition feedback pays testament to how hard the choir has worked these last two years and how far they’ve come as a choir.”

Fordingbridge Musical Theatre Choir has gone from strength to strength after performing as Gareth Malone’s backing choir at Poole Lighthouse in 2024 and entertaining locals at lots of memorable community events, including D-day and VE-day commemorations, Alderholt Fete, and the ever-popular turning-on of the Fordingbridge Christmas lights.

The choir is part of a national network of SingSpace choirs that welcome everyone from professional singers who want to fall in love with singing again to those who have been too nervous to consider singing in public.

There is something for everyone, whether they want to hide in a crowd or try solos, complex harmonies, and new singing techniques.

There are spaces in the choir for new people to join for the autumn term. New members are welcome to join the choir on tour next June.
