Plant makes Football League debut after recall

Ahead of yesterday’s (April 10) fixture against Winchester City, it was announced that James Plant and Tommy McDermott’s loan deals had ended despite being recently extended until the end of the season.

Instead of being involved at The Ray Mac, James Plant found himself on the bench at Vale Park for the visit of Oxford United in SkyBet League One. Plant, having only appeared for The Valiants in an EFL Trophy group stage game at the start of the season, stepped onto the field with just over 20 minutes left with the game level.

Following the 0-0 draw, Darrell Clarke praised Plant saying that “he deserved his opportunity” and “there will be more to come from him”.
