Summer Book Fair to take over Salisbury’s Mompesson House tomorrow

A TREASURE trove of books awaits people at a book fair in Salisbury tomorrow (July 5).

The National Trust team at Mompesson House is inviting book lovers of all ages to its book fair in Salisbury’s Cathedral Close.

Running from 11.30am to 3.30pm, the fair will feature a wide selection of second-hand, vintage, and antiquarian books, generously donated by supporters.

Ranging from rare gems to best sellers and perfect summer reads, there’s something for every literary taste.

Andrew Portas, visitor experience officer, said: “Find yourself a treasure from our wide range of books.

“Whether you’re looking to bag a first edition or something to while away the summer afternoons in the garden, we have a fabulous selection for you to browse.”

Visitors will also be able to enjoy croquet on the lawn, picnic blankets to relax in the peaceful garden and a tea room offering cream teas, sandwiches, cakes, bakes, and ice cream.

Normal garden admission applies: £1 for adults and 50p for children.

This includes access to the garden, tea room, and second-hand bookshop.
