Urgent need for funding to keep community pantry doors open

A COMMUNITY pantry near Salisbury has put out an urgent appeal for funding to enable them to continue to support families in need.

Old Sarum and Longhedge Community Pantry is looking to raise £3,000 to keep its doors open.

The pantry relies on donations to keep their shelves, fridge and freezers stocked.

It was recently recognised at Salisbury Radio’s Local Hero Awards with a community project award for its work to support around 300 families with low-cost shopping.

A spokesperson said: “Every donation, no matter how small, makes a significant difference in the lives of those we serve. Your support is vital in ensuring that we can provide essential resources to those in need.

“If you can contribute anything at all, we would be incredibly grateful.”

Construction company J.M O’Toole recently donated £1,000 to support the pantry.

A pantry spokesperson said: “These guys are based in Corsham but heard our story and wanted to support how amazing is that?”

The pantry also received a stack of Double Deckers from Decorum vending.
