RESIDENTS are being urged to keep their eyes peeled for letters and reminders as county chiefs look to keep the electoral register up to date.
Wiltshire Council is carrying out its annual canvass for 2026 and has called on households who have not yet responded to initial communications to ensure their information is correct and to return reminder letters or forms.
Each communication will explain whether a response is required and how to complete it.
Meanwhile, from September 17, canvassers may begin visiting properties where no response has been received, with doorstep visits continuing until October 19. While they will not engage with residents, the canvassers will post a communication through the letterbox.
Residents can also respond quickly and easily online at the household response webpage using the security codes provided, with responses also possible by phone, text, as well as returning the paper form.

Wiltshire Council annual canvass 2026
Lucy Townsend, Wiltshire Electoral Registration Officer, said: “We are continuing to contact households across Wiltshire as part of the annual canvass, and I would urge anyone who has not yet responded to do so as soon as possible.
“Responding promptly helps us keep the electoral register accurate and reduces the need for reminder letters or visits.
“If you receive a letter or a visit from one of our canvassers, please follow the instructions provided and take a few moments to confirm your details.
“Every response helps us complete the process more efficiently, so we thank residents for taking the time to respond.”
Residents were reminded Wiltshire Council will never ask people for their bank details, and official canvass emails will be sent from the email address, wiltshire.electoral.services@notifications.service.gov.uk.
