Wiltshire made it three wins in a row in the NCCA Trophy with a 6-run win over Wales.
The continuing shuffle of venues around Wiltshire saw this fixture take place at the home OG Warminster Cricket Club.
Wales won the toss and selected to field, this being the first time in this year’s competition Wiltshire were the ones to set the target.
After a delayed start, the match was reduced to 33 overs each. In Wiltshire’s innings finished they set a score of 236/7 from their 33 overs. Jack Mynott (64) and Ben Draper (58) passing the half-century milestones for their county to help set a defendable target.
With Ed Young and Harry Broderick collecting 3 wickets each, Arthur Godsal claiming a pair and Matthew Burton also claiming a wicket, Wiltshire managed to hold firm and keep the target out of reach. Despite a strong innings from Wales’ Brad Wadlan (74*) they fell just short by 6 runs.
Wiltshire have a weekend off from NCCA Trophy action this weekend before travelling to Dorchester where they look to continue their unbeaten run against Dorset.
