AN AWARD-WINNING refill shop is set to host a pop-up vegetarian restaurant next month – showcasing how delicious cooking from refillable ingredients can be.
The Green Gram, in Fordingbridge, will launch pop-up eatery Green Feast at Bridge’s Cafe on Tuesday, November 3.
Guests are invited to arrive at 7pm for a 7.30pm start, when they can enjoy a menu created by an expert chef Tim Tonkin using ingredients from The Green Gram’s own shelves.
The proposed menu opens with seeded bread, oil and vinegar, followed by sunflower seed ricotta with dukkah and roasted butternut squash. The main course brings together spiced cauliflower and slow-cooked celeriac with lentils, pickled raisins and toasted coconut, while dessert is ginger parkin with rehydrated figs and ice cream. Tea or coffee to finish is courtesy of Bridge’s Cafe. Some dishes may change on the night.

Jo Anderson, manager at The Green Gram, said: “Green Feast is a chance to show just how delicious cooking from the refill shop can be.
“Every dish on the menu includes ingredients our customers can buy loose, without any single-use plastic packaging. We can’t wait to share an evening of good food with our community.”
Tickets cost £30 per person and must be bought in advance from The Green Gram Community Refill Shop, where both cash and card are accepted. To keep things simple for this first event, guests are asked to bring their own drinks. Tap water and glasses will be provided.
If the evening is a success, The Green Gram hopes to make Green Feast a regular event.
