AN unknown person wearing a motorcycle helmet tried to steal a dog from a dog walker in a village near Tidworth.

Amesbury Police said the attempted theft took place at Great Perham Copse near Perham Down on Friday (June 6).

The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered a minor injury to his face that luckily did not require hospital treatment.

The force has stressed that no knife was seen during the incident.

The suspect is described as wearing a black and red motorcycle helmet, black clothing including a hooded top with drawstrings.
