ANIMALS came in two by two for a special blessing service at Salisbury Cathedral.
Owners and their beloved companions took time to paws and reflect as the All Creatures Great and Small celebration took place on Saturday (September 19).
Dozens of dogs, guinea pigs, mice, cats, a tortoise and even a caterpillar more among those on hand to receive a blessing.

“We had our biggest turnout yet, welcoming 79 dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chickens, a tortoise, goldfish, and even a caterpillar.

“When we care for them, we become servants of God’s creation. When we play with them, we know joy.”
He added: “At the end of their life, we learn about death, grief, and the hope of reunion in the world to come.
“They enrich our lives, combat loneliness and teach us how to love.”
